Gabrielle Marceau
Cà D'Zan
Do you know what Florida looks like from above?
I don't
I slept through the flight.
But I did dream
of Denise Richards
in jelly sandals.
It’s probably like a throng
of dark green
and a few ridges,
there are probably also buildings.
Coming from the ocean,
Miami starts in a straight line.
A little too straight
if you ask me.
At night it must look like
a fishing line of lights
and then suddenly city.
Dark sharks and then city.
Florida is porous, a sponge in a bowl of water.
Green on blue.
A Sevillian eyesore
pokes out of the skyline
they wrote the news there once
and even were it for a hot minute
when they processed
those fleeing castro.
But the news men
moved to the river
and the tower
is now an art gallery.
And south to the mansions
in Coconut Grove.
There Vizcaya built a home so he
could pretend it was Venice.
They started with the rose garden
but died before they could build
the art school.
So now no one knows how to do things,
they just know how to look.
But you have to have 25$
and be in Miami now
the bay is turning pink on the screen.
Where are you?
